First Grade

My (just today) 17yos got his very first grade yesterday.

He is taking a Bravewriter course that assigns grades to the essay assignments. (He did OK, of course or Mom would not be posting..)

But I sat back and realized it is rather amazing we have gone 17 years in his life with no grades, save some standardized tests we do ever so often. But he is still learning all that stuff that grades are put in place to make kids learn. Amazing. :)

OTOH, I could tell he was happy with it, so there is something about the tangible sign of an accomplishment.

A life without grades is cool, isn't it? My older kids didn't get their first grades until they were 16 or 17 and studying externally at university. :-0
