Real Faith Straight from Dad

My dh has a new job. He is working from home. So we are all adjusting and doing pretty well. He took over the precious office the boys and I shared. ("Oh.. My Precious!- ok.. too much LOTR for me...)

So we are relegated to the music room. We are doing ok and dh is very disciplined. Amazing, in fact. My neighbor (who has a very different lifestyle than I) learned that today and said.. "You mean you are all home TOGETHER 24/7?!" and looked at me from an angle as if weighing if I was ready to be committed. I just smiled and said we were doing fine. That my husband was very disciplined... etc, etc, etc. :)

Anyway, one new job I have is taxi-ing him to and from the airport. At first I was grumbling internally. Mostly internally... some externally. But today I think I like it. It give us 25-30 minutes to talk alone. Nice.

Today we talked about driver's ed for our 16yo. And the impact on insurance rates. We decided he doesn't really need to drive right now.

Also, we talked about faith. I told him when he talks to the boys about faith, his experiences, the reading he has done, how he defends the faith and share with others... It is *gold*. That is how I see it. I told him the boys don't always respond, but they remember. And every word he says is just like gold to their ears.

Before he left he asked them to read all of John chapter 6. It has been read in Mass the past weeks. My dh has read a lot about heresy (past and current) shares with us. Pure gold! I told him that is so much more meaningful that the kids memorizing a text.

Not that texts are bad, they are great, but to hear it from Dad is... just gold.
