I have picked up my piano again and really love the arranger Dan Coates. He is easy enough for me, but enough of a challenge to keep me interested and satisfied playing.
Here are a couple of links to a site that will play part of the arrangement of songs. Of course it is a computer playing it so you are welcome to imagine that I play *better*.. ha ha.
First song I am enjoying is from Star Wars called Across the Stars.
Click here, them click 'hear it' in upper right corner.
Next one I love is In Dreams, from Lord of the Rings. I play this and it is in my mind all day, and I hear various men in my house humming or whistling it, too. What a classic song. It always reminds me of a green Irish countryside with mists and flowers and maybe some hobbits....

I was about to sell my piano because I was tired of all my music and not getting any better and my dh asked me not to. He likes to hear me play. So I went to the music store and found some wonderful books full of LOTR and Star Wars music arranged by Dan Coates. I am enjoying playing again- it is really beautiful music!

- We are all on a journey, and this blog's reason for existence is to be a place to put mine. From humble suburbian begnnings just north of Dallas to a Catholic unschooler with a passion for faith, lifelong learning, my family and dogs, here I stand before you. Welcome to my world!
Authenticity.
That would have to be my theme at present. To enjoy my family, be true to ourselves and our faith and be authentic and enthusiastic about life!

I love Dog Day Afternoons...
"What children need is not new and better curricula but access to more and more of the real world; plenty of time and space to think over their experiences, and to use fantasy and play to make meaning out of them; and advice, road maps, guidebooks, to make it easier for them to get where they want to go (not where we think they ought to go), and to find out what they want to find out." That's great, Cindy! I want to learn to play piano.
I play flute (badly...) and my dh even bought a new flute for me about a year ago. I feel bad that I haven't picked it up and played it very much. I really WANT to...
I see you changed the name of your blog again! =) Change is good!
AWESOME, Mama!
I want to take voice lessons and piano lessons and ballroom dancing lessons.
Plus, I want to learn how to knit proficiently and crochet proficiently - I'm trying on my own - but I do need some guidance...
I love that you're doing this!
Donna and Maria I would love to hear about your musical pursuits! Maria... it sounds like you have a lot of interests to explore!
