For my Aussie friend who is curious about our Thanksgiving menu... :)
Here is some Thanksgiving trivia, too. Though the day commerorates when the pilgrims first came over to settle in the 1600's and had a feast with the native Americans, Thanksgiving did not become national holiday until Abraham Lincoln named it so in the 1860s!
Here is our menu----
Smoked Turkey (dh is doing this on his Big Green Egg.. first time!)
Stuffing
Mashed potatos
Gravy
Cranberries
Relish dish
Brocolli Bake
Jiffy Corn Cassarole
Hot rolls
and for dessert---
Chocolate Bourban Pecan Pie (dh making)
Raspberry Pie (16yo request)
Pumpkin Pie ( me and 13yos request)
We are making the pies and putting together the cassaroles tomorrow and doing the rest on Thursday. We also have 4 dog sit visits on Thursday and 6 on Friday!
And, we are making the pie crust from scratch.. did that for the first time last year and now can't go back to frozen from the grocery store... :)

Oh, yum! I am planning our Xmas menu right now - a mix of Aussie BBQ and traditional. My dh and boys would love your desserts!
BTW, I'd love a recipe for broccoli bake - or a link to a recipe. Sounds yum!

Update!
Well, the Brocolli Bake was not nearly as good as my sil's... not really good enough for us to repeat it. So you may not want my recipe. But I will get my sil's for you (and me!) and post that-- would you like it before Christmas?
The Corn Cassarole came out great.. YUM!
The raspberry pie (also and expermient) was not a hit. But the pumpkin and Chocolate Pecan Bourbon (sinfully rich) was great.
I would love to see your Christmas menu!
